Xero Is Getting a New Look This September
If you log in to Xero regularly, you’ll soon notice some changes. From September, Xero is rolling out a redesigned homepage (formerly known as the dashboard) along with redesigned navigation. These updates are designed to save you time and make important information easier to find.
What’s Changing?
A Smarter Homepage
The homepage is becoming more flexible and customisable. You’ll be able to:
Choose which widgets you want to see (like invoices, bills, tasks, or profit and loss).
Rearrange the layout so the information most important to you is front and centre.
See more detail at a glance, with reduced empty space and clearer summaries.
For example, if you want to keep an eye on invoices paid or overdue bills, you can set those widgets as priorities on your homepage.
Easier Navigation
Menus are being reorganised so you can get where you need to go faster. The Business tab is being split into two—Sales and Purchases—making it quicker to jump into the right area. Tax and reporting are also easier to find, and there’s a new right-hand panel with quick links to notifications, search, and help.
More Control and Visibility
Xero has also improved how bank accounts and connected apps appear, so you can quickly spot what needs your attention without digging through menus. The whole system looks more modern, but more importantly, it’s been designed to work the way small businesses operate day to day.
Why This Matters for You
Saves time: Less clicking around to find invoices, bills, or reports.
Puts you in control: Customise the homepage so it reflects the parts of your business that matter most to you.
Keeps you on top of cash flow: With clearer, more flexible widgets, it’s easier to track money coming in and out.
When Will You See the Changes?
Xero is rolling this out gradually, starting in September. You might notice the new look the next time you log in. If you don’t see it straight away, it will appear in the coming weeks.
Final Thoughts
Change can take a little getting used to, but these updates are designed with small business owners in mind. Once you’ve set up your homepage the way you like it, managing your business in Xero should feel simpler and faster.
